All Done With Kindergarten

June 26th, 2009

Kay had her last day of Kindergarten last Friday. And while they did the Culmination/Graduation service the week before, this time they just celebrated with a dance performance. Can’t believe she’s done with Kindergarten…she’s a first grader now! Thanks Leener for getting us these pics!

Gettin her groove on.

Grandpa (or as Noah puts it…Ga-Bu-Ga) and Grandma (also Ga-Bu-Ga).

That’s a LOT of girls! 7!!!

Hugs with Ayi-3.

Crazy Kid

June 23rd, 2009

Noah. Nothing could have really prepared me for having this little monster. I was always told that having a boy would be different, that boys are always running, jumping, climbing, and getting into all kinds of trouble. But having 2 girls…that’s no walk in the park either…right?

Then he came into our lives. Then he learned to crawl. Then he learned to climb. Then he learned to walk. And now…it doesn’t stop. It never, ever stops. He never, ever stops. Whether he’s dancing on the table, dismantling the screen door to get onto the balcony, swishing the toilet water, getting food out of the trash can, stuffing his face, taking a dump, stuffing his face while taking a dump, climbing the end table to get to the candy bowl, climbing up the bunk bed (which started at 11 months!)…it doesn’t stop. He doesn’t want to watch TV. He doesn’t want to play quietly or color. He wants to conquer!

Just this past weekend, at our Father’s Day dinner…my dad took his eyes off of him for just a few seconds…seconds!…and the next thing you know, he’s totally submerged in the swimming pool, under a plastic chair that he dragged in. After plucking him from the water, he blows the air out of his nose, points at the water, and wants to go back in!…nevermind that he had begun what most other people would consider ‘drowning’!

But to really illustrate…we need a picture, a visual. Please see here, Noah, straddling the top 2 edges of Kay’s bunk bed, holding onto the curtain rod for whatever balance he needs.  Noah, Noah, Noah.  Monster!

Congratulations Kay!!!

June 15th, 2009

This past Friday, Kay celebrated her “Culmination”. I guess that’s the Clover Avenue Kindergarten version of a Graduation Ceremony. It was quite the hectic experience! Something like 5 Kindergarten classes, on the verge of BURSTING out of their seats, waiting for their names to be called so that they can run up and shake their teachers hand.

All I can say is Wow!…that was a fast year. Wait…that was a fast 6 years! I can’t believe this little girl is done with Kindergarten!

Thanks to all that came out to celebrate!
