River Spring Court - Almost Done!

October 12th, 2009

The last couple of weeks have been really exciting in regards to the house.  We are almost done!  What’s left?…some plumbing, some electrical, some painting, carpets, installation of appliances, landscaping, clean-up, a ton of inspections…but we are almost there!  Oh yeah, can’t forget the delivery of the 2 large stone lion statues and pagoda…just kidding!  Anyways, here are some recent pix…

I’m really excited to move in.  What you don’t see here…is this huge area that our future front lawn is going to occupy.  Room to play for the kids, lawn to mow for me.

Our hardwood floors went in a few weeks ago…but after the interior paint finished, the hardwood floor people came back, sanded everything down, and stained it dark.

Our grand foyer.  That hanging light was HUGE when it came in the box.  But after hanging it up…it doesn’t look so big!

The kids are excited to get to go in and check out the house, their rooms, all the progress.  Throughout the whole interior paint stage…we forbade the kids from going in.  I can only imagine the havoc Noah would cause around wet paint.

Tiles and electricity!  We picked up a lot of tiles on our own from Lowes.  For those of you that have been to our National Condo…these are the same tiles in our master bathroom shower.  We liked them so much, we decided to get them here on our new home.  Lowes and Home Depot buying power is so strong, it’s cheaper if we get these tiles ourselves and just pay the builders for labor.  The flip side…I had to move more than a thousand pounds of tiles!

Noah.  Going to the new home is so exciting.  But bringing Noah is so frustrating and terrifying.  The kid loves to get dirty.  If there is a mound of sawdust, he’ll be stomping around on it.  If there is a layer of drywall dust, he’ll be swimming in it.  If there is a pile of gravel, he’ll be digging into it.  He’s like a magnet for dirty disaster.

Our back patio!  Plenty of room to bar-b-que, set up patio furniture, and get a firepit for s’mores started.  Can’t wait to move in!
