Our First Independence Day In The Midwest

Our first Independence Day in the Midwest.  The plan was to play with water balloons and squirt guns, BBQ, then when the sun goes down, light up some fireworks.

Controlled and organized water balloon games…

…quickly degenerated into an all out water balloon war…

…which turned into a chaotic squirt gun battle…

…until they found a common target…me.  Here I am, trying to evade Samuel’s lightsaber!

Glad to hear Rebekah got all of my attackers back for me.

Jesse, caught in the act of squirting.

We got a bunch of sparklers and ONE single cone.  So this was OUR MAIN EVENT, the lighting of the cone.  You can see in the background, there were TONS of other “main events”…but this was ours!

Noah, and his first sparkler experience.

have really enjoyed the last few posts…so have the girls. “when are Kay and Bekah coming back again?…I used to see them EVERY Thursday!” (said with a pout) is the recurring discussion that I’ve been having with Mandy recently. we miss you guys!
